Prayer Points for this Month (May 2024)

Finance & Administration
WEEK 1 May 1-5, 2024

  1. Pray for the health, well-being and unity of the Finance and Admin team.

  2. Pray that CARE will be blessed with a new vehicle as the cost of maintaining old vehicles is very high.

  3. Pray for the protection of our buildings, vehicles and equipment.

  4. Pray that God will touch the hearts of donors to give generously to meet our budget for this year.

  5. Pray for grace and favour for the team as we work toward fulfilling God’s call upon our lives as individuals and as an organisation. 


Prison Work 
(Clients, Volunteers, Prison Staff, PC Klang)
WEEK 2 May 6-12, 2024

  1. Pray for the volunteers and leaders involved in the juvenile prison ministry, that they be granted wisdom, compassion and patience as they strive to make a positive impact on the lives of young offenders.

  2. Pray for the hearts of the juveniles to be open to receiving guidance, love and healing. Pray that God would break the chains that bind them and replace despair with hopefulness, overcoming darkness with His light and restoring them from brokenness.

  3. Pray for all our volunteers and pastors to be aware of the importance of after-care services and to promote it to inmates when conducting classes in prison.

  4. Pray for the prison department to be in favour of Kelas CARE and grant the permit to conduct classes which were suspended since the pandemic.

  5. Pray for all the projects planned for our prisons and halfway homes to be carried out according to God’s plan.

Communications

WEEK 3 May 13-19, 2024

  1. Pray that more pastors will learn about Malaysian CARE through Pastors’ Fellowship meetings and find our church resources useful.

  2. Pray for one-on-one conversations with pastors of CARE staff churches, that they will result in stronger support in terms of prayer and finances.

  3. Pray that God will touch people’s hearts through our photos and videos on Facebook and Instagram, inspiring more churches and volunteers to actively engage in social work and CARE’s ministries.

  4. Pray for more communities to learn about the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation Community Scholarship, and for eligible students to apply for this life-changing opportunity.

  5. Pray for more volunteers and interns to apply and gain grassroots NGO experience serving the poor.

  6. Pray for God’s provision through the table sales of CARE’s 45th Anniversary Thanksgiving & Fundraising Dinner and for wisdom for the team in planning and organizing the details of the event.

PC Raub

WEEK 4 May 20-26, 2024

  1. Most Orang Asli are still not aware of their own rights, especially regarding their land. Pray for God to intervene through PC Raub’s team in planning land rights awareness talks and activities around the areas of Raub, Kuala Lipis and Bentong in 2024.

  2. Kursus Kewangan Inklusif (KKI) is being conducted in Kampung Ruai and Tual, Pos Sinderut. Pray for God’s direction for participants to plan income-generating projects for the flourishing of His kingdom among the community.

  3. When the KKI course in Kampung Ruai and Tual is completed, the participants will form a working committee for their income-generating projects and savings. Pray for God to choose the right leaders to train their own people.

  4. PC Raub envisions empowering the AJKB to conduct KKI in a new village called Kampung Labu. Pray for God to give confidence to AJKB to assist and for the villagers in Kampung Labu to be receptive to fresh ideas to improve their economic situation.

  5. Orang Asli youth in Pos Sinderut have just finished their SPM and are not sure about their future. Pray for God to provide resources for the PC Raub team to guide and inspire them to find their life purpose in God and move towards it. 

 



Policy, Advocacy & Research
WEEK 5 May 27-31, 2024

  1. Pray for opportunities for the PAR and Community Development teams to empower and strengthen advocacy efforts with various stakeholders, such as churches, hospitals, welfare centres and prison authorities.

  2. Pray that the YouTurn Project initiatives happening this year with churches and government agencies will open opportunities to create more depth in bringing awareness and acceptance, leading to opportunities for ex-prisoners to reintegrate into society.

  3. Pray that the Christian Prison Network will be a channel of blessing and a platform for uniting Christians towards effective prison ministry.

  4. Pray that all upcoming meetings with stakeholders in the HIV ministry will bear fruit in terms of collaboration to support clients living with HIV.

  5. Pray for a discerning spirit and wisdom as PAR executes plans with various departments in CARE to carry out advocacy initiatives that could affect policy change through research and advocacy.
